A Message!

A message from David Lund, Executive Director of Children’s Services, Blackpool.

" We are delighted that Blackpool will host the 107th Conference in 2011. We will ensure that the reputation of the conference is upheld with our dynamic and innovative approach.

For the first time in its history the North of England Conference puts the spotlight on the challenges and expectations being made to us by our children and young people, and our accountability to them. The Presidency of the conference will be shared with a young person. At the same time we will focus on areas that young people consider important and have the opportunity to reflect upon these issues in depth by sharing national and international good practice.

Together we will look for ways to remove barriers to achieving the five outcomes in the Every Child Matters agenda and for every child to achieve their full potential. Our World Our Future concerns how we make sure that our young people will have the skills and knowledge to be active citizens of their local communities, the United Kingdom and the world at large.

We look forward to welcoming you! "
