NEEC 2011 Blackpool

Learning Programme

NEEC 2011 offers delegates the opportunity to hear key speakers from a wide range of backgrounds in all the areas traditionally associated with best practice in Children’s Services and much more to reflect the changing times and latest issues.

For the first time the conference will be jointly chaired by a nationally known public figure Ann Widdecombe and a young person from Blackpool, Max Bailey, to truly represent the ideas of young people. Key speakers who are well known nationally will engage and provoke thought and discussion will join our presidents. NEEC 2011 will certainly not be dull!

As always the conference programme will consist of speeches, debate and offer the chance to take part in learning seminars.

For the first time delegates will also have the opportunity to choose to pick and mix from other key speakers and learning seminars in a range of fields. Perhaps you are from a health background and wish to know more about education? Or you are a member of the Police and want to gain knowledge of the key issues in Social Care? Governors and Elected Members can learn more about safeguarding, integrated working in a session entitled Everything You Need to Know led by Michael Murphy from Salford University.

Under the umbrella theme of Our World, Our Future NEEC 2011 will focus on a range of key issues including young people’s health, youth justice, education leadership, SEN, the 14-19 agenda and parental responsibility. The programme features a range of speakers and experts that have been at the sharp end of change within the sector throughout their professional careers and will provide a forum for robust debate, audience participation and peer-to peer networking.
